Do you have parents asking you to work on physical skills that their child is struggling with but don’t know where to begin? Skills such as going up/down stairs, jumping or balancing? Have you started collaborating with a physical therapist but don’t always know how to incorporate the goals you are given into your class content?
During this webinar, we will discuss a few common gross motor goals and how to break down those goals into skills that you can incorporate into your classes. You will also learn some new ideas about how to use dance and other fun gross motor activities to try with your students.
During this webinar you will:
Learn what all movement skills have in common
Begin to understand a task analysis process of “breaking down” common gross motor goals (i.e. ascending/descending stairs, balancing and jumping) into basic physical skills.
Practice applying task analysis to common gross motor goals that you can address within your class content
Be provided with various fun and motivating dance and/or gross motor activities that you can use to help a child work toward a new gross motor skill
Duration: 60 minutes
